Cooking Methods Lab: Eggs

To demonstrate dry and moist heat cooking, students created poached and scrambled eggs.

Students had a lot of fun with the scrambled eggs, bringing in various mix-ins from their fall gardens.  Neil was especially generous with his fresh green peppers.

Students were pretty leery of the poached eggs.  Many students discovered that they are actually quite tasty!  Allie declared that she made them for her friends after a sleepover and they were all quite impressed.

Teacher’s Note:

Incredible egg was a great resource.  It gave step-by-step pictured instructions.  It also had a video demonstration which was helpful for students who missed the demonstration day.
